Fun on the Farm

Happy Saturday!

In my last blog update, I told you about 365 day challenge. And of course, the day after, I lost my camera charger. A week later I found it! Yay, for the recovery, but unfortunately my hard set goal took a turn. I am still dedicated to my 365 challenge, but I'm going to start over in November. For sure for sure! I've also decided, if for SOME reason I can't take a picture (much like this past week), I will make them something pretty for that day and then take a picture of it later. Long story short... listen to ramble on about how I feel guilty for breaking this super dedication to myself.. bah!

On a happier note: I was able to take my son to a local farm we have here in Missouri (because yeah we've got a lot of them). The great thing about this particular farm: they open their farm up to the public from September to October. They have a barn to pet the animals: horses, goats, pigs, bunnies, and more. Then they have a fence to see turkeys, roosters, and chickens. A huge corn maze (note: if you allow your three year old to lead you through a corn maze, be prepared to stay in there for an hour), a hay ride, and a huge pumpkin patch. My son also got to play in a huge pit filled with corn kernels; it was almost sand like, really cool!

I highly recommend checking out your local farms, and seeing if anything like this is happening in your community. It will have you appreciating the food you purchase, especially when you see how much work it takes to grow, plow, inspect, transport, package, and then have it arrive in the store ready for you to consume.

On a completely unrelated note:
I am planning on starting a craft showcase! I want to use a different product from a certain company and show you all the uses. Vague much!? Yes it is! But I’m not 100% ready for the big reveal, so look forward to my post on Wednesday for all the information!

Have you been to your local farm? If so, do you have a story to tell or anything to add? I’d love to hear it! Thanks for coming by!
