New Business Card Excitement!!

Hello everyone!
I'm so excited to show you my new business cards!! I had them delivered through VistaPrint, and I was able to design them in a "DIY" fashion through PicMonkey. I absolutely love PicMonkey. I used their photo-editing abilities back when they were PicNik, and they are still just as user-friendly. My header, Facebook Cover, and Etsy Banner were all created using PicMonkey.

I knew I wanted to create my own business cards with my own "NoWayMommyCrafts" flare. I first did a quick Google search for "DIY business cards with PicMonkey" and came up with Heather's tutorial from DesperatelySeekingSanity.com. She does a great job explaining PicMonkey and what she did to make her Business cars. Even if you’re a seasoned PicMonkey user, it’s always nice to have a "step by step" to keep you on track.

Heather mentioned a different printing company for her business cards. I actually had a coupon from VistaPrint, so that was the best route for me! Overall I'm so pumped to have my business cards ready to go!

Last night I got to put them into use! I provided the desserts for an Open House: Brownie Pops (Turtle, Andes Mints, & Rocky Road), Puppy Chow, & decorated Sugar Cookies. Although I don't usually create edibles for events (to much of it being a cake decorator for seven years) I'll make exceptions every once in a while. I did, however, use last night as an opportunity to advertise my Etsy shop. And business cards are always a necessity for quick advertisement!

And to show you my portable advertisers...

Halloween Household Craziness

It’s Monday again! I hope you had a great weekend. Here at NoWayMommy’s, we have had a hectic go of the last four days. I’m sorry Wednesday didn’t happen. My handsome, little, stubborn boy decided after Mommy made his Super costume that he didn’t want to be Super Man anymore. Now usually I would tell him that he has to stick with the choice he made, but his cap decided to make a disappearing act. In other words, my Wednesday was spent searching for a last minute Iron Man costume. And of course he was a cute little Iron Man!

It's been crazy around here, I apologize I wasn't able to meet that Wednesday deadline, but I'm hoping to show more soon!

If you have any awesome DIY tips you’d like to share, that’d be greatly appreciated!

Fun on the Farm

Happy Saturday!

In my last blog update, I told you about 365 day challenge. And of course, the day after, I lost my camera charger. A week later I found it! Yay, for the recovery, but unfortunately my hard set goal took a turn. I am still dedicated to my 365 challenge, but I'm going to start over in November. For sure for sure! I've also decided, if for SOME reason I can't take a picture (much like this past week), I will make them something pretty for that day and then take a picture of it later. Long story short... listen to ramble on about how I feel guilty for breaking this super dedication to myself.. bah!

On a happier note: I was able to take my son to a local farm we have here in Missouri (because yeah we've got a lot of them). The great thing about this particular farm: they open their farm up to the public from September to October. They have a barn to pet the animals: horses, goats, pigs, bunnies, and more. Then they have a fence to see turkeys, roosters, and chickens. A huge corn maze (note: if you allow your three year old to lead you through a corn maze, be prepared to stay in there for an hour), a hay ride, and a huge pumpkin patch. My son also got to play in a huge pit filled with corn kernels; it was almost sand like, really cool!

I highly recommend checking out your local farms, and seeing if anything like this is happening in your community. It will have you appreciating the food you purchase, especially when you see how much work it takes to grow, plow, inspect, transport, package, and then have it arrive in the store ready for you to consume.

On a completely unrelated note:
I am planning on starting a craft showcase! I want to use a different product from a certain company and show you all the uses. Vague much!? Yes it is! But I’m not 100% ready for the big reveal, so look forward to my post on Wednesday for all the information!

Have you been to your local farm? If so, do you have a story to tell or anything to add? I’d love to hear it! Thanks for coming by!

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog!

A little about myself (and what you can expect to see)
I'm outgoing, crafty, crazy, a little OCD, kind of a perfectionist, and a mommy. I crochet, scrap book, paint, sew, cook and I'm a DIY fanatic! I have 3 cats, a puppy, the most amazing parents, a sweet irritating loving boyfriend, and the best son! I love life to the fullest. I know its not perfect, but that's what makes it fun! Thinking of all the people and what I love most in life actually is what lead me to rethink blogging.

This actually isn't my first blog. I've actually had a few. I've always had a problem in the past with the goal I want to set for a blog. I've blogged about being a mom, about just crafting, and even about being a student. The problem I ended up having: those are just aspects of my life. I can't pick a certain part of my life to talk about, instead I've decided to share all aspects, because they're all important to who I am.
I have recently decided (or re-decided) to take part in the 365 photo challenge (she has an amazing website that's really inspiring). I've tried in the past, but I didn't have a goal in mind (Are you seeing the trend in my life? lol). And then the inspiration occurred: Christmas is approaching, and because my son & boyfriend gave me the sweetest card after he pissed me off saying I love you, I've decided to take a picture everyday that says or displays the words "I Love You". By this time next year, a year worth of I Love You's, will be an amazing Christmas present!

I'm so excited to get started! I've already taken my first picture!
This is the card my sweet boyfriend gave me to make up for show me he cares!

Basic Goal: take a picture with "I Love You" somewhere in the scene.
If you have any ideas or inspiration let me know!

Thanks for coming by! And I hope you come back again to see all the crazy craftiness I have in store!
